We’re a local group inspired by Idealist.org…so, first, about Idealist.org

Idealist.org Vision: We would like to live in a world where:
All people can lead free and dignified lives.
Every person who wants to help another has the ability to do so.
No opportunities for action or collaboration are missed or wasted.

Idealist.org Mission:
Action Without Borders connects people, organizations, and resources to help build a world where all people can live free and dignified lives.AWB is independent of any government, political ideology, or religious creed. Our work is guided by the common desire of our members and supporters to find practical solutions to social and environmental problems, in a spirit of generosity and mutual respect.

Now about us: Idealist DC

We’re a group of people getting together to create and foster social consciousness, activism, and community in the DC area. We are working towards “being the change that we want to see in the world” and we’re here to provide support and community for those on that process in life.

We’re progressives, transpolitical, eco-conscious, open-minded, and best of all, full of heart, spirit and fun. We know we can’t save the world on our own, but that won’t stop us from trying…especially when we can do it together!

We welcome everyone to join us for our events and to participate on this blog.

We also welcome you to subscribe to the Idealist-DC Yahoo Groups Listserv!
